Dow joins Nasdaq, S&P in record territory, as stock market rises ahead of Fed minutes

U.S. stocks indexes opened modestly higher on Wednesday, following a fresh round of record closes for the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 index to kick off the new year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.40%[1] looked to carve out its first record in 2018, up about 30 points, or 0.1%, at 24,856.
